Exciting New Things

Today ended up being a big day for Tessa!  

After church we headed to iHop for lunch where Tessa opened wide for her very first waffle!  She struggled with the first piece a little and was hesitant of course, but there was no doubt she liked it!  I just love these pictures, she was like a little bird opening up for more.  She ate at least 5 or 6 bites and it was hard work for her, but it was so exciting to watch her work so hard and really get to enjoy it!

Tessa also waved bye-bye this evening like we've never seen her do before!  Towards the end of our small group time, Ms. Tammy went over to Tessa to tell her bye-bye and Tessa lifted up her right hand and bent all five of her little fingers open and closed at least 4 times to say 'bye-bye'.  It was amazing.  Tessa has been waving bye for awhile now, but never like this.  She usually opens and closes her whole hand, with fingers together, once or twice and it has always been the cutest thing.  But tonight, when Tammy waved, she was overly-expressive with her finger movement and Tessa mimicked it right back.  It was so beautiful and made this mama tear up!

I just love these kinds of surprises!
