Well, today is a day of transition. We had a very good meeting with a Resource Coordinator from Sooner Start this morning. Lots of information to digest and the beginning of a process of setting goals and achieving goals ~ again we are encouraged and overwhelmed all at the same time!
Darin's mother, Karen, drove away from our house a few hours ago to head back home to Kansas. She has been with us since the Saturday we were in the hospital.
Karen, to you we say "Thank You" from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your time, your heart, your encouragement and your prayers during your extended stay with us. We will miss the 'Parker-and-Grandma' giggles that have filled our house for days....we will miss you...he will miss you! You have encouraged us through our rawest of moments...graciously and patiently loving us through it all. We can't wait for you to come back and experience life with Tessa and her new pink hearing aids ~ looking forward to it!
So, as we transition, this evening will be full of questions as to the whereabouts of our precious Grandma Bynum: "Mommy, where'd Grandma go?" "Mommy, Grandma went home?" "Mommy, where'd Grandma's car go?" Questions that will be met with the most patient of responses: "Grandma had to go home, Parker." "Yes, Parker, Grandma went back home to Grandpa." "Grandma and Grandma's car went home today, but she'll be back soon I'm sure :)!"
Please pray for Parker specifically during this transition as he tries to understand why such a good thing had to 'go away' from his life right now...but that it will come again and that we can look forward to that day!
This transition will also involve determining a normal until Monday morning when we will then transition to another new normal as Darin and I go back to work. We understand that our life will consist of many transitions along the way....as it would have regardless of Tessa's diagnosis. But we acknowledge that it will require a little more effort on our part for the sake a very speical 2 1/2 year old seeking to understand and go-with-the-flow the best he knows how. Parker is a very real and invaluable part of our journey....as my boss said in an email to me today "Parker will keep you both in line." ~ In line, smiling, laughing, joyful...you name it...he does it! :) A life-line of sorts!
So, prayers for today, Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be fabulous! Pray that we have time to play, time to read books, time to go for walks, time to laugh, time to love and time to rest and prepare for a long week next week.

Praying for you all-we have been away and keeping up with all by phone calls-Dawn called several times to keep us aware of Tessa's health and we have kept in touch with Sam and Karen-and we have ALL been talking to the Lord-asking His special blessings on Tessa, her medical progress, and on all of your hearts and bodies.
